On average 80% of through life cost is spent during the in-service and disposal phase of a project. With ever increasing demands to do more with less and escalating pressure on equipment budgets, the impetus to make significant savings has never been greater. Clearly, support offers a significant opportunity for savings to be made. However, these savings must not be made at the expense of equipment availability.

The primary aim of Integrated Product Support is to provide cost-effective availability through design influence… designing for support as part of the systems engineering activity. The output of this activity is a support solution. Optimisation of the support solution (cost versus availability) is achieved through modelling and analysis. What we are trying to achieve through the modelling and analysis process is to identify and flex the support cost driver ‘levers’ to achieve the best ‘bang for our buck’.

The Pennant presentation examines the modelling and analysis landscape, offers opinion on the growing importance of support modelling and analysis, and balances the increasing use of modelling toolsets with the requirement to draw on SME domain expertise when reaching support decisions.”

The event will address the following:

  • Integrate Product Support
  • Logistical modelling and analysis
  • Decision Support Analysis
  • Logistical optimisation
  • Modelling tools and software
  • Life Cycle Cost modelling
