Emesent, a world leader in drone autonomy, LiDAR mapping, and data analytics, has given LAND FORCES a practical demonstration of its Hovermap ST technology, with a 3D LiDAR representation of the exhibition floor.

Hovermap ST is an autonomous and versatile SLAM-based LiDAR Mapping system, It can provide advanced autonomy and mapping when drone-mounted, can be used as a standalone mobile mapping system, mounted to a tactical vest for hands free operation, or mounted to a ground robot, like the Boston Dynamic Spot Mini.

Mounting Hovermap to a tactical vest allows for hands free operation while also providing a real-time view of personnels’ location and 3D geospatial awareness of their environment. Hovermap also records and live streams the route taken, useful information in complex environments. The live feed can be output to a large monitor to view from ground control station. The communication range from the personnel to ground control can be extended with the Emesent Long Range Radio accessory or bread crumbs in complex environments.
