Land FORCES 2021 Innovation

INNOVATION AWARDS HISTORY

The Innovation Awards program was announced by AMDA Foundation Limited in 2012 and the Awards were first presented at AVALON 2013, Australian International Airshow and Aerospace & Defence Exposition. The Awards have addressed directly the operational and sustainment needs of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) as well as the civil and commercial aviation and maritime communities.

Since 2013 nearly 200 entries have been received and the AMDA Foundation has awarded some $395,000-worth of SME Innovation Grants and Young Innovator Scholarships at LAND FORCES International Land Defence Exposition and its sister events, AVALON and INDO PACIFIC International Maritime Exposition.

The Awards are driven by the Foundation’s altruistic mission to promote the development of Australia’s defence industry capability. They are open to Australian companies or the Australian subsidiaries of overseas parent companies.  Entries are judged on their understanding of the user needs, the originality of the innovation and, crucially, their success in the market.

The LAND FORCES Innovation Awards were presented for the first time at LAND FORCES 2014 and then again in 2016 and 2018. We have included here a full list of the winners and shortlisted candidates, video interviews conducted with the winners of the LAND FORCES 2018 Innovation Awards, and an imaginary combat scenario that describes how the LAND FORCES Innovation Awards support the Australian Defence Force.
