Doing business with Defence is challenging for new SMEs. What are the cut-throughs and where should SMEs focus their business development resources? During this session, SMEs will hear directly from some CDIC clients who will explain how they went about addressing these challenges.
Department of Defence procurements typically have exacting standards and specifications, and these expectations will apply to all businesses in the supply chain. Developing the necessary service offerings, skills, tools, accreditations and partnerships will take time, planning and investment.
This session will start with a presentation from the CDIC on grants available to help SMEs assess and improve their business capabilities, as well as take advantage of development opportunities.
Experienced SMEs who have recognised and overcome their own challenges, will share their success strategies for working with defence. The session will conclude with a facilitated peer to peer roundtable discussion on challenges faced by business participants.
